Causes of Bad Vision

There are many wonders circling around the world these days as to what are the causes of bad vision. Bad vision is, many times hereditary, and can be, handed down through the genes of a family member. For instance if grandma or grandpa had bad vision, there is, a big chance that someone else brought into the family by birth, could in fact have bad vision as well.

Video games are the result of many causes of bad vision, many kids and teenagers, as well as adults will play video games in the dark. The reason people choose to play video games in the dark, is that it is easier to see what is, going on while playing the game. However, many viewers do not know that they are ruining their vision, until they are, exposed to sunlight or any bright light. Many people that play video games at night, often times have to wear sunglasses when going outside in the sun. The reason being is that their eyes are not able to adjust properly to the sun light depending on how much they play video games.

Watching television at night, or being on the computer in the dark, can more then likely be causes of bad vision for many Americans. Just like video games, one should not watch television in the dark. In addition, the computer often times produces small words, making a person have to squint to see what is, written on the screen; this could cause your vision to be blurry.

Moreover, causes of bad vision have to do with a symptom called Amblyopia. Amblyopia cause one eye of a child to have poorer vision then the other. Therefore, if left untreated your child could develop bad vision in one eye, and possible blindness as he or she matures. Moreover, Amblyopia could cause the poorly sighted eye to turn inwards or out.

How can Amblyopia be, treated you ask? Well an eye doctor will have to force the brain to use the bad eye, by placing a patch over the good eye. This in turn will make your child unable to see clearly for weeks, months and many times years, before any results start to appear. However, many children regain their vision if the problem is, detected and treated early. On the other hand, if you wait to long, say for example two to three years, then the vision of the eye will be, impossible to get back at all.

Other, causes of bad vision pertains to Glaucoma, which has to do with the optic nerve that helps a person to see. You see a persons' brain is, like the tube of a television set, our eyes see the image then send it through the optic nerve to the brain. Therefore, the image that passes through our eyes now becomes an image to us. In addition, if the optic nerve is, damaged there will be no way possible for our brain to receive a clear image. Moreover, this will cause any image we see to appear blurry.
